Memberships for ages 65+ are available for the SIU Recreation Center. You can check the Southern Illinois University Senior Limited Rec Center Membership page for full detail, to verify the current cost, and to sign up.
As of the end of 2023, the cost was $286 per year or $105 for fall or spring semester or $76 for just the summer semester. Some Medicare plans qualify for a free Silver Sneakers membership – you can check to see if you qualify on the membership page.
Senior Limited membership gives you access to the REC Monday-Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and during regular business hours on Saturday and Sunday. You can see the Saturday and Sunday hours here that various REC center offerings are open; hours may be limited during school breaks.
